Performance Biography-Wendy LeBlanc
Wendy LeBlanc is a Professional Harpist and Instructor with the Wyndfall Conservatory. Ms. LeBlanc currently teaches in her private studio in Tulare County, and performs with the Fresno Philharmonic and the Tulare County Symphony (now the Sequoia Symphony), as well as with the Wyndfll Trio, the Wyndfall Flute Orchestra, the Kingsburg Orchestra, Sierra Cowboy Riders, and for various productions and special events throughout the country. In addition, she owns her own retail business dedicated to the beauty, elegance and long history of the harp called CraftyHarp. Ms. LeBlanc designs all of the original artwork in the Gallery. She is also an accomplished Marketing Manager and Web Developer, and she designs all of her own web sites, as well as many others. She is also a Private Tutor, Parent Mentor, and Child/Education Advocate. She also possesses extensive experience with home-based education and working with children with special needs.
Wendy studied Harp Performance at the New England Conservatory of Music, the Music Academy of the West, and UCSB, and was awarded special honors in Who's Who Worldwide, and Who's Who in Business. She combines extensive experience as a soloist, duo with flute, orchestral, musical show, and chamber musician, performing in concert halls and private venues across the country. She also possesses extensive experience with home-based music education, working with children with special needs. Wendy performs on a variety of harps, including her beautiful Salvi, Diana concert grand pedal harp, a Triplett Axeline Celtic Harp, as well as a small, 27-string Rosebeck folk harp.
As an accomplished soloist and orchestral musician, Wendy has performed concertos, or has held principal chairs, with many different ensembles including: the Fresno Philharmonic, the Tulare County Symphony, The Kingsburg Orchestra, The Wyndfall Flute Orchestra, Coastal Valley’s Symphony Orchestra, the Pacific Coast Chamber Orchestra, the Allstate Honors Orchestra, the Santa Maria Symphony, the Santa Ynez Valley Orchestra, Santa Barbara Harp Ensemble, the Prisms New Music Ensemble, the Music Academy Symphony Orchestra, the Santa Barbara Opera Theater, and the Santa Barbara Town and the Gown Chamber Music Series at the Faulkner Gallery,the Sierra Cowboy Riders, to name but a few. In addition, Wendy has made recordings with the Pacific Coast Chamber Orchestra, PCPA Theaterfest, Yamaha Performing Artist Tracy Harris, and the Wyndfall Trio.
Mrs. LeBlanc has won many local and national honors including; winner of the National Society of Arts and Letters grant competition, winner of the Pillsbury Foundation scholarship competition three years in a row, winner of the Santa Barbara Music Affiliates award, the Music Academy of the West scholarship award, and the New England Conservatory of Music scholarship award, to name a few. Wendy is also a member of the Golden Key National Honors Society, as well as the world-wide American Harp Society.
Wendy studied harp with master teachers including Ann Hobson-Pilot, renowned recording artist and principal harpist for the Boston Symphony Orchestra and the Boston Pops as well as harp instructor for the New England Conservatory of Music and Boston University. Ms. Leblanc also studied with Suzanne Balderston, master harpist, recording artist, composer, and author of numerous books on harp instruction, as well as NBC Symphony harpist performing and recording under the baton of Arturo Toscanini. In addition, Ms. LeBlanc also studied with master harpist Mary Jane Barton, a professional RCA studio recording artists and Los Angeles Philharmonic performer.
